Our Goal
We help people throughout the world towards financial sovereignty and promote Bitcoin adoption worldwide.
We seed and foster new circular Bitcoin economies, strengthening communities against economic shocks such as (hyper) inflation, the banning of cash and the freezing of or denying access to banking services. We focus for example on people sending or receiving remittances, small local traders looking for a way to trade without censorship or store their wealth in deflationary currency and people from developing economies working online to sell services to an international market.
We:
- Select a community which is open to working together and liaise with spokespeople from the community;
- Tailor our training packages to their needs;
- Deliver training of trainers;
- Ongoing support to trainers to meet the Bitcoin needs of the community.
Our Communities
We work with any community in developing economies or countries which are under dictatorships, financial or otherwise. Either we are approached by people within that community, or we reach out through our pre existing network, to inform interested parties within the community what we can offer them. Some of our communities are selected through our partner organisations, on the basis of interest expressed by the community or infrastructures already existing there (a vibrant local market, for example, or a high number of people receiving remittances) which make it especially suitable as a place to set up a circular economy.
Our Education
The internet is full of wonderful resources for any keen learner who is looking to educate themselves on Bitcoin. Bitonomy steps into the gap in the market which pre-exists that curiosity – we reach out to people who are not yet informed or curious about Bitcoin but for whom is has the potential to transform their lives and their futures (along with that of their families and communities too). Our education packages are simple, accessible, and understandable – not only for educated people able to negotiate online banking and computers but also for people who are lacking formal education or experience with technology.
Our Training Materials
We have a training package which we implement in every location, although we tailor make details of it to fit the needs of the community. It covers:
- What Bitcoin is;
- The problems with the fiat system;
- How to buy, earn, spend and save in Bitcoin;
- Why a circular economy built on Bitcoin can empower the community;
- Why Bitcoin maximalism is the only way.
We are greatly indebted to the Mi Primera Bitcoin Workbook, the Saylor Academy course “Bitcoin is for Everybody,” the Bitcoin bible “The Bitcoin Standard,” by Saifedean Ammous, the seminal “What is Money” Saylor series with Michael Saylor and Robert Breedlove and countless other resources in the form of lectures, podcasts, articles and books for forming the basis of our training packages
For each location, we tailor the training to accommodate the level of education of the participants and the needs of the specific community.
